Pandemic of Errors

The Biden administration recently extended the pandemic state-of-emergency through June 2023. For those keeping track this now equals more than three years of federal ‘emergency’ powers. With the list of damaging and non sensical pandemic policies already endured it seems our leaders should be humbly apologizing rather than extending their authoritarian powers. Let us review just a few of the covid related mistakes our reigning experts have made:
Origination
In March 2020 the WHO (World Health Organization) put together a team of international medical experts to investigate the origins of Covid-19. WHO investigators described the enquiry as “closely overseen” by the Chinese government. China officials first provided the investigation team with wet market samples for analysis and then limited access to the (WIV) Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Heading the investigation team was British zoologist, Dr. Peter Daszak. He is president of EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S. based non-profit research organization. EcoHealth Alliance had been funding ‘gain-of-function’ research of coronavirus at the Wuhan lab. In addition, the non-profit had also been receiving federal grants approved by the CDC (Center for Disease Control). Specifically, these grants were authorized by the Director of the NIH (National Institute of Health), Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Given such serious conflict of interest neither Daszak or Fauci should have ever been the media go-to experts on coronavirus origination theories. Added, we now know that social media censors also had weekly conversations with Fauci to determine which ‘disinformation’ should be scrubbed from their platforms.
Also in March 2020, 27 scientists wrote a letter in the world’s highest impact peer-reviewed academic medical journal The Lancet. The open letter “strongly condemned conspiracy theories” surrounding the lab leak theory for the origins of Covid-19. All debate between animal-to-human vs Wuhan lab leak origins were effectively shut down by the letter. From that moment forward scientists who continued floating a lab leak theory were black-listed and deemed purveyors of disinformation.
Eighteen months later The Lancet and in turn the national media opened questions about the Covid-19 origins admitting there was great credibility to the lab leak theories. No apologies for the destruction of careers, reputations, and free speech principles along the way.
Governor Overreach
Authoritarian state governors in partnership with power-hungry federal bureaucracy stomped all over the U.S. Constitution in name of emergency powers. From “Fifteen days to slow the spread” to altering voting protocol to mandating vaccinations, all took place with no legislative input. The short-term need for emergency measures has now extended into years of unilateral implementation of dictatorial powers. 10 states including New York and California remain under emergency orders today. 23 states left pandemic voting changes in place for the 2022 elections. Many of these decisions include great demonstration of illogic with zero roots in medical science. (i.e. California once banning swimming in the ocean) Many destructive unintended consequences are inflicting our country today. Yet not one authority who implemented such rash and uninformed policies has apologized or taken responsibility for the fallout.
$6 trillion of federal pandemic spending – most of it to support the long extended non-essential business shutdowns – has caused 40-year-high inflation. Online education favored wealthy families while destroying all opportunity for a generation of the poor. Education, crime, inflation, national debt, increased division, missed cancer screenings, depression, hopelessness, lost businesses and careers – and many more unforeseen unintended consequences of extreme reactionary policy.
Mask Mandates
No evidence prior or post Covid-19 exists demonstrating cloth and surgical masks slow the spread of viruses. This was well known by virologists – the reason Dr. Fauci immediately came out against mask wearing in March 2020. If you could get every American to properly wear a well-fit N95 mask in all public situations a theoretical reduction of transmission may take place. But in the real world such perfect conditions never exist. However, all claims about the benefit of masks originate from this imaginary baseline.
Covid virus particles are only about 0.1 microns in size. The vast majority of all widely used masks throughout the pandemic have openings at least 50 times larger. The mask cannot block the virus. What the mask can block is the much larger droplets the virus is often attached to. In short, the mask stops us from spitting on each other. Still, a sneeze or cough explodes through the bottom, top, and sides of the mask while virus particles blow through the front. Mechanically speaking the protective effects are minimal at best.
With many studies and great amounts of data now available from the last 30 months, the effectiveness of masks still remains inconclusive. Many scientists theorize the small blockage is counteracted by behavioral differences. For example, studies have shown people touch/adjust their mask an average of 15 times per hour. Example: A person sneezes and the mask captures droplets. But the same sneeze pulled the mask below the nose, so now that individual must adjust the mask back into position. Now virus has been transferred from mask to hand and subsequently to any surface touched afterward. The net benefit has been negated by human nature.
Now imagine the above scenario with a room full of elementary students. Imagine two years of masking all children well aware no real benefit exists. Imagine censoring opposing data and accusing masking skeptics of disinformation. This all took place yet no authority has apologized or taken responsibility.
Natural Immunity
A century of medical science proves that the human body - in process of defeating a virus - develops natural antibodies equal to or better than any vaccine ever produced. I know this because I watched an interview from 2008 where Dr. Fauci explained the process precisely. Why does this matter?
Job Loss - Proof of vaccination has been mandated for government employees and many other corporations. Thousands have lost their jobs over refusal to vaccinate. Yet no option to prove natural immunity was ever offered even with common medical knowledge they are better protected than vaccinated coworkers.
Liberty - We supposedly place high value on the right to choose what to do with one’s own body. Scratch all comparisons to the measles and polio vaccinations. First, covid vaccination does not stop you from getting or spreading the virus. Second, those who have recovered from the measles or polio are not forced to vaccinate. This because they already have natural antibodies. Vaccination at gunpoint for adults and children regardless of antibodies is a serious violation of body autonomy.
Division - President Biden repeatedly blamed the unvaccinated segment of our population for extending the pandemic. Angerly stating he had “lost his patience” with a third of the population. Never once was effort made to understand why people remained unvaccinated. Instead, Biden, Fauci, and the CDC kept pushing the “Pandemic of the unvaccinated” theory - dehumanizing reasonable Americans as dangerous cultists. Again, natural immunity was never once considered a factor.
Costing Lives - Ignoring natural immunity during the early vaccine rollout unquestionably cost American lives. At a time when supply was limited shots were going into the arms of people who already had natural immunity. Meanwhile, some number of vulnerable individuals became infected and died while waiting their turn in line. With all the intellect of Dr. Fauci and the CDC a little common sense could have saved some lives. But instead, the existence of natural immunity was completely ignored.
