Manufactured Statistics
by Darrin Barker TBD
Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk there has been a propaganda bombardment from Democrats citing statistics from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a supposed bipartisan anti-hate organization. The left-wing talking point repeated at nauseum is: “70% of all extremist related murders are committed by the alt-right”.
I am a curious person by nature; therefore, I took a deep-dive into these statistics. Looking at the numbers from last year – here is the information provided on the ADL website:
In 2024 there were 13 political extremist related murders, all 13 connected to alt-right ideology. 8 instances of white supremacy and 5 due to anti-government ideology.
White Supremacists (8):
Concord, New Hampshire: Jesse James Sullivan, a member of a white supremacist prison gang killed his (white) half-brother for being a ‘snitch’.
Livingston, Texas: Don Steven McDougal, a pedophile with ties to the Aryan Brotherhood murdered an 11-year-old (white) girl.
Olympia, Washington: A Hispanic man died after being brutally assaulted with a baseball bat in front of a homeless encampment. The killer, Arrin Daniel Salter, shouted “Get off my lawn” while beating the victim. Salter has tattoos indicating he is affiliated with a white supremacist gang.
Orofino, Idaho: Nicholas Umphenour and Skylar Meade, both members of the Aryan Knights white supremacist prison gang, killed two elderly white men in process of stealing a vehicle during an attempted escape.
3 Other white supremacist killings were also attributed to gang members.
Anti-Government (5):
Levittown, Pennsylvania: Justin Mohn killed and decapitated his father, a longtime federal employee. After the killing he posted a video on social media including his father’s severed head calling for more killing of government workers.
Four Corners, Oklahoma: Two social workers were killed traveling to a supervised visit. Disgruntled family members of the children were charged with the killing. The five family members allegedly have links to the anti-government group "God's Misfits".
Lake County, Florida: Julie Sulpizio made a false 911 call and then ambushed the responding officers with gunfire. Helped by her husband and two adult children, the shootout insured two additional officers. The family had extremist religious and conspiratorial beliefs and believed they were doing God’s work.
Dallas, Texas: Corey Cob-Bey approached a police car, and after a brief conversation pulled a pistol then shot and killed the officer. Cob-Bey was active both with the religious extremist group Moorish Science Temple and the anti-government group ‘sovereign citizen movement’.
Another anti-government killing was linked to an extremist not part of an organized group.
Source: ADL WebsiteA gang member killing his brother for being a snitch? A pedophile murdering a little girl? Killing two men during an attempted prison escape? Beaten to death while walking through a homeless encampment? Are these instances of alt-right political violence? No. These are examples of senseless murder, not political violence. In addition, according to these ADL statistics, not one single black person was killed by white supremacists in 2024.
When President Biden repeated on many occasions ‘white supremacy is the greatest threat to this nation’ – would you not assume the KKK and Aryan Nation have been murdering dozens if not hundreds of black people each year? That is the obvious intention of such over-the-top fear-mongering. Yet the truth is white supremacists are marginalized groups with microscopic membership barely existing on the fringes of society with no real power outside of the prison system. They may be violent gangbangers with a disgusting ideology – but clearly not a threat to average Americans.
There wasn’t a single murderer with tattoos or social media posts in support of Antifa, Jane’s Revenge, Free Palestine, Marxism, or the Youth Liberation Front? Statistics comparing the violence from different extremist groups can only be relevant if the same standards are applied across the board. For that reason alone, the 70% claims are completely fraudulent.
Worst of all, the over-the-top exaggerations about white supremacist killings are told for the express purpose of creating fear. A distorted attempt to keep people filling the Democrat circle on every ballot.
