Trump Cures Cancer

fake news headline, trump cures cancer

by Darrin Barker June 14, 2024

The abstract “If Trump cured cancer, they would still hate him” has been repeated many times. President Trump has endured the most hostile press corps seen since the invention of television. I am not suggesting sympathy is warranted. Quite obviously the resentment flows in both directions. Instead of jumping down the ‘chicken or the egg’ quagmire, I would rather point out that reporting truth is still a journalistic obligation – even if writing about a loathsome character. After all, even the humanity of a suspected murderer is respected with the adjective ‘alleged’.

Objectivity has completely vanished in the partisan newsrooms of modern journalism. Corrupt to the extent my news parody (Upon curing cancer the media would only report resulting job losses) may closely resemble reality. Here are a few examples of the democrat/media refusal to report positive news about DJT.

NAFTA

In 1994 President Clinton signed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) which eliminated tariffs on products traded among U.S., Canada, and Mexico. It was passed by a bipartisan Congress – but quickly lost support with democrats. It has been seen as a vacuum sucking manufacturing jobs away from the U.S. John Kerry, Bernie Sanders, and Barack Obama all ran on eliminating NAFTA. But it took Donald J Trump to accomplish their goal. In 2019 Trump managed to purge this trilateral agreement putting NAFTA on the dust-heap of history – and not one complement from elected democrats. Six years later, Labor Department statistics show a significant increase in manufacturing returning to the United States.

Abraham Accords

This set of agreements negotiated by President Trump created diplomatic and economic relationships between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan. An accomplishment tried for 80 years by dozens of world leaders. Due to these mutual interests the partnership has remained strong in support of Israel against horrific attacks such as Oct 7, 2021, and the thousands of missiles shot at Israeli civilians by Humas and Hezbollah since. The Palestinian’s were only left out due to their own refusal to accept Israel as a legitimate nation. The partnership is also unified in support of ending Iran’s quest for a nuclear weapon.

Prescription Drugs

Prior to Covid19 Trump had led an aggressive push against Big Pharma – a consistent democratic party position for 20-years. One of the greatest threats to the profits of giant pharmaceutical companies was the Trump FDA policy of expediting generic-drug applications. Overall, this had a huge downward push on drug prices. The new streamlined system was much of the reason a Covid19 vaccine could be developed, tested, and made available in less than 10-months. A process that would normally take years. This vaccine was immediately shared with all nations saving hundreds of thousands – or even millions – of lives worldwide. Instead of nominating Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize democrats blamed him for increasing the death toll.

The reason? He did not show enough support for mask wearing, school closures, or the World Health Organization's conclusion Covid19 originated at a wet market in Wuhan. A conveniently anonymous origin. Democrats did not like Trump blaming the neighboring Wuhan Coronavirus research lab. A facility partially supported with American taxpayer money signed over by Dr. Fauci himself. Millions given to EcoHealth Alliance, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose CEO was coincidentally Dr Fauci's good friend Dr. Peter Daszak.

Illegal Immigration

For decades democrats have spoken in support of securing our borders. Barack Obama insisted we must limit illegal immigration to fight terrorism, drug dealing, and human trafficking. The left has often suggested this security can only come via a comprehensive immigration bill passed through Congress. But former Congresses have already passed comprehensive immigration laws that specifically outline federal responsibilities for securing our borders. By simply abiding by those current laws Trump virtually stopped all illegal crossings within 60-days of his inauguration. Yet listening to democratic criticism today it becomes glaringly obvious they now oppose the very position they had been advocating for the last three decades.

Antisemitism

Protecting the civil rights and dignity of marginalized people has been a staple of the Democratic Party platform since the 1960s. Framing crimes against Jewish Americans as primarily a product of white nationalist groups – then connecting these groups with republicans – has netted Democrats a consistent 70% of the Jewish vote in perpetuity. Yet today on several university campuses across the nation Jewish students are being threatened, intimidated, and put in fear of attending classes by mobs chanting racist anti-Israel slogans. What have democratic leaders done to help? They have sided with the ‘freedom of speech’ rights for hate speech over the civil rights of Jewish students. Much like when JFK had to step in to protect the rights of black students in 1963, Trump has now stepped in to protect the civil rights of Jewish students.

First Step Act

In 2018 Trump signed the bipartisan First Step Act which resulted in the release of 5,000 non-violent drug offenders from prison, 91% of them black men. Mandatory-minimum sentences for even non-violent repeat offenders was all part of the bipartisan 1994 crime bill. President Clinton signed it into law with Joe Biden as an eager supporter. But by the end of Clinton’s tenure democrats had soured on the bill and begun calling for prison reform. 18-years later when Trump finally accomplished what they never could – did you see any cheers from Democrats, journalists, or civil rights groups? No. Instead, they just continued slandering him as a racist.

HBCUs

One month into his first term Trump signed the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This is a 50-year-old initiative reestablished by several Presidents. However, the Trump initiative outlined $25 billion of federal resources dedicated to the modernization and expansion of HBCU’s. A huge increase from the $4 billion granted under the Obama administration. In 2019 Trump implemented the FUTURE Act. In addition to periodic funding this law mandates an annual $255 million for Minority-Serving Institutions of learning. Democrats ignored this historic accomplishment and instead went on smearing Trump with the ‘fine people’ hoax.

My conclusion is, yes. Looking over this 10-year history it is obvious to me that the American press and Democratic Party would not have a single good word for Donald Trump even if he had discovered a cure for cancer.
